Academic Programs

 

Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) – to be completed in 5-7 years
 
The purpose of the D. Min program is:
 
 
1. 
To train current full-time pastoral workers who have completed the M.Div. degree with the skills to pursue in-depth research in contemporary issues that are within the field of practical theology.  (Graduates who have completed M.A., M.C.S. or M.P.C. qualifications can make up any missing credits needed to fulfill requirements for the M.Div.)

 
2. 
To develop their spiritual gifts, abilities and vocational skills, to strengthen their areas of weakness, thereby breaking through bottlenecks in their ministry.

 
3. 
To foster spiritual growth and character formation, as well as to build a sound theological foundation, in order to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing and diversified postmodern society, impregnated with traditional folk religions.
 
Master of Theology (Th.M.) – to be completed in 5 years
 
This program provides an opportunity for those who are interested in advanced study and theological research in one of the following areas: Old Testament, New Testament, or Theological Studies. To the Chinese churches, this program hopes to achieve the following goals:
 
 
1.
To train qualified teachers in Chinese theological education.

 
2.
To provide graduate level training to pastors, missionaries, or Christian workers from parachurch organizations, resulting in a more effective ministry in their fields of service.

 
3.
To contribute to the raising up of Chinese scholars involved in theological research.
 

Master of Divinity (M.Div.) – three-year residency program

 
This program is designed for born-again Christians who respond to God’s call to serve in professional full-time Christian ministry. The purpose of the program is to equip them in such roles as pastors, missionaries, or educators, serving Chinese churches both locally and overseas.
 
Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.R.) – two-year residency program
 
This program is designed for full-time workers in churches or church-related organizations. Its purpose is:
 
 
1.
To equip those who are currently engaged in church ministry, counseling, Christian publication and communication, with further biblical and theological training.

 
2.
To provide advanced educational opportunities for pastoral workers who already have a bachelor’s degree in theology.
 

■ Master of Christian Studies (M.C.S.) The purpose of the M.C.S program is to provide theological training for lay workers in the church.

 
Master of Pastoral Counseling (M.P.C.) – three-year residency program or part-time (up to 10 years)
 
This program is for believers who may wish to engage in the ministry of pastoral counseling either as lay persons or full-time workers.

The purpose of this program is to develop Christian counselors who apply biblical methods and uphold the Lordship of Christ while serving in the church and the community, thereby extending the Kingdom the God.
 
 
Diploma in Christian Studies (Dip.C.S.) – one-year residency programor part-time (up to 7 years)
 
This program is for Christian believers who are already serving at some capacity in their churches.
