課程簡介：

I. Course Description:
This course seeks an historical, phenomenological, and theological examination of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements. Special focus will be given to the historical and theological antecedents of these Movements, the experiential and theological characteristics of these Movements, and the impact these Movements have made upon the church and the world.
|
II. Relevance for Ministry:
Within one century the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements have changed the character of Christendom. Of the 2 billion Christians in the world, some 500 million identify themselves as Pentecostal; that number grows daily. Moreover, a tremendous number of sacramental Christians identify themselves as Charismatics. For those reasons, and because these movements are both malleable and cross-cultural in their impact, ministers and church leaders of every kind must be familiar with the shape and nature of these movements. Students also will learn to assess the strengths and weaknesses of these movements.

III. Course Format:
This course will meet for 3 hours per-week, on Monday, afternoon from 3:00-6:00 p.m. The class time will be devoted to lecture, discussion, dialogue and interaction.

IV. Course Objectives:
A. To acquaint the student with the history and theology of the Pentecostal and Charismatic movement.
B. To widen the student's comprehension about the distinctive features of the movement.
C. To gain a better and balance perspective of the controversies surrounded the movement.
D. To develop critical tolerance and appreciation of both the positive and the negative features of the movement.
E. Explore the promise and the limitations of the experiential appeal of Pentecostal-Charismatic movement.
F. Gain opportunity to reflect on personal and ministerial experience of the Holy Spirit.
